Adopt a dog radio ad

For this Copywriting assessment, we were to write and record a 30-second radio spot persuading listeners to adopt a dog for the client Pedigree & Pet Rescue. The spot must be in keeping with the brand's values and tone of voice.

My idea was two dogs in a cell talking to each other, while one dog is trying to sleep the other is excited to share the gossip of information that dog Steve at the shelter was asked to clean his cell a family came and chose to adopt him. The story goes like this:

SFX:  Sounds from a dog pound shelter in the background.

Two dogs Dialogue:

Dog 1 [Dom]: Hey Barry. Barry!

Dog 2 [Barry]: Yes Dom!

Dog 1 [Dom]: they told Steve to be ready tomorrow so they clear out his cell.

Dog 2 [Barry]: Yes Dom, but I'd like to sleep so please stop talking.

Dog 1 [Dom]: He's finally going to be part of a family, he'll be well fed and have a warm place to sleep!

Dog 2 [Barry]: Yes Dom, and he's not going to have any worries sleeping with other dogs yapping in his ear is he?

Dog 1 [Dom]: Ohh, Sorry…

SFX:  all background sound stops for VO.

Closing  V/O:
